Taxi Terror

The Yellow Peril -- medallion taxis -- seem to be more dangerous than ever. Actor David McCallum discovered this Friday night when he was slammed by a cab outside the Regency Hotel on Park Avenue. "I'm glad I did 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' as I learned how to roll off the hoods of cars," he said, after avoiding the wheels of death by jumping, hitting the hood and bouncing off the windshield. The taxi fled the scene, leaving McCallum with only a fractured finger, head contusions and bruises. And he wasn't the only cab victim in the emergency room at New York Hospital. Two other pedestrians were there after being injured in the cabbie version of "Death Race 2000."
